I remember the tape with some fondness. The hours spent putting together compilation tapes and the all-too-familiar experience of finding that your deck had chewed your tape will resonate with many now in their 30s and 40s.*sigh* news.uk.msn.com/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=4872921

Although I notice there's no plan to ditch vinyl because of the hours you spent crying after you found some twat had pushed your collection up by the radiator.

Yep, I've rediscovered some crinkly old tapes that I'd left on my window sill for a good few months. Fried to buggery. I just hope there's nothing important on them.
Boohoo, it's a sad day indeed. And the day they outlaw vinyl, my life is over.

I don't have a record player anymore, but since the radiator incident, I don't have many records either.
There's summat comforting about the scratchy white noise sound when you first put the needle on the record.
So adios to tapes then. I'll miss the hiss..
